Literacy is knowledge, literacy is education. Be it adults or children,they will always face obstacles in life due to a lack of basic education, reading & writing and language skills. Illiteracy may thus, more often than not, result in difficulties in ensuring livelihood for themselves and their families, and walk down the path to extreme poverty and loss of livelihood.
Rotary Club of Calcutta Visionaries contributes to the cause of eradication of illiteracy from the society. The club undertakes dedicated programs to promote literacy amongst remote and hard to reach areas where it is needed the most.Such activities for promoting education and vocational training like sewing skills, making cane products, etc, breaks down barriers and opens opportunities for the needy ones to provide for themselves and their families.
